Key Functions of the Active Schools Research Alliance

Conduct & support collaborative interdisciplinary research

Collaborate on the design, execution, and dissemination of new research
Analyze existing data and disseminate via presentations and publications
Write collaborative grant proposals
Serve as an advisory board for new and ongoing research projects

Monitor and evaluate key indicator data

Analyze data on the status of youth physical activity in the United States
Report on key indicators connected to school physical activity promotion
Identify and address disparities in youth physical activity behavior

Develop and refine Active Schools tools & resources

Ensure new tools/resources are grounded in the best available science
Review and offer feedback to partner organizations seeking to align their programs and practices with evidence
Strive to make tools and resources accessible to all audiences
